tuesday

i'm no closer to having a job today than i was in november. the economy is a mess and nothing seems to be bringing it up out of the cellar. i don't envy obama, he's got quite a job on his hands. wonder if he's having second thoughts. . .

90% of my internet searches have begun with the characters "rv +" as i continue to try to figure out what in the world is the root problem with the water system. we pulled the toilet yesterday to replace a valve or two. when wallace opened up one of the parts, we discovered calcification that was the size of aquarium gravel and completely blocked the outlet port. hmmm.

so i started searching "rv +" again. we have a problem on the drain side (stopping up) as well as the intake side, as evidenced by the toilet issue. i think i've got a plan of attack and purchased 6 gallons of vinegar. i've drained the fresh water, replaced it with vinegar and the water system can now be turned back on once the toilet has been put back together and reinstalled in the bathroom. the shower is clear, the kitchen and bathroom sinks both got a gallon of vinegar yesterday. it has been sitting overnight. i will test it shortly.

i need to make yet another run to the rv store to purchase a new shower handle. the one that is currently attached is a bit, rugged. may as well replace it while i have it off. w will put it back on later today and we'll fire up the water pump to get some of that vinegar up in the different appliances. the theory is, once the vinegar is pumped into the appliance, it will work it's magic by eating the calcium "rocks".

i have hope that it will indeed work, the pebbles that littered the shower floor have turned to dust having vinegar overflow sitting on it for a few hours. we will need to rinse repeatedly and it will take a while.

i'm hoping that once we've got this done, our last two problems will disappear and we'll be fully functional.

it sure has been fun, even with the remaining problems. it's been outstanding to have the bathroom. i listed to the coyotes howling the other night and had to smile to myself as i knew that we were all safely tucked away from harms way. i could hear the furnace kicking in to keep the kids warm during the night.

yep, we're going to us it a lot.
