the other side. . .
last week i was stressing out about change. then, just as you decide it's not what you want. . .good change comes about.
we had planned on taking young christopher camping this weekend. the weather here is on the very edge of changing. that means that sometimes it's really nice, and other times it's still monsoon-ish. that means humid and a bit warm.
two nights we had the windows open at night and the air conditioner off. the third night i woke up about 2 in the morning boiling hot. go figure.
being a weatherman in the phoenix area has to be about the easiest job on the planet. 95% of the time if you say sunny and dry, you hit the nail on the head. i think i heard 2 weeks ago that the "monsoons are officially over." well, someone forgot to mention that fact to mother nature as she's continued to build up those afternoon clouds and winds almost every night.
but i digress.
so we promised christopher a camping weekend. then mr. weatherman said it was going to rain that night. so we cancelled camping for saturday night and decided to take him to the dirt track sunday morning. problem is, w already had made plans to take an offroad trip to mount lemmon with some friends.
not wanting to disappoint chris once again, he cancelled his trip in favor of the track. tell me that's not one special grandfather!
and what a pleasant morning we had. w rode austin's yz250, i rode my ttr230 following christopher around, picking him up when he fell and giving instructions when i could. it was an incredible day.
this change was good, very good.
