not good luck
we arrived back at our camp on thursday night (after leaving early wednesday morning to return to the valley), to discover that someone had helped themselves to two of my dirtbikes. to be more specific, my 2006 ttr230 and christopher's 2007 ttr50. what kind of person does it take to steal a child's motorcycle. it had "tiger" on it with little paw prints.
there will be a special place for this person, i gotta believe that.
and my little bike had been lovingly customized for me by my sweet hubby. baja light kit, changed the jetting and the gearing. it ran like a top and i loved it. and now, because someone else coveted it, it's gone. life isn't fair sometimes.
i've come to terms with them being "things" and not what we need to continue our christian life, but i will miss them just the same. hopefully the prescott police can find the culprit. someone that would steal from a private church camp can't be all that smart and will likely offend again.
we visited with a co-worker turning friend on saturday. we had gone to their house here in the mountains last week. we hosted them yesterday. we had a good time and i was able to dig something up to throw together as a snack. items are limited in the rv shelves, but i had enough to prepare something acceptable. chips and dip are a life saver, so was lori's post about making guacamole. i craved it since her post and so had the ingredients on hand to make up a batch.
victoria's hummingbird feeder is becoming a real hit with the birds. we've counted up to 5 at one time. unfortunately, the bees like it too. my ventures to the home improvement stores to secure a wasp/bee catcher has been fruitless. apparently everyone in prescott must have one too and both lowes and home depot were sold out.
as ye and i were sitting out tonight, a bee flew near. ye's hunter instinct snatched him and he swatted the bee. . .which promptly got pissed off, ricocheted off the swatter and planted it's stinger firmly in my arm. OUCH.
once the stinger was extracted, the pain has been pretty much gone. but i went back inside while ye hung the bee/wasp catcher on loan from his co-worker. before retiring, ye checked and there were about a dozen stupid bees in there. i hope it's full tomorrow. :-)
so my luck is not so good these days. two stolen bikes and a bee sting. on a lighter note, little gavin, our newest grandson, sprouted his first two teeth.
he's a blessing.
